The name Dawaipani means medicinal water. There are multiple Dawaipani sources in the hills some of which are hot water springs. The popular Dawaipani village near Darjeeling gets its name from the nearby spring in the river nearby. This pristine hamlet is situated at an altitude of over 6000 feet. It is located about 20 kilometres from Darjeeling town surrounded by Himalayan forests and one can witness the splendid view of Kanchenjunga and Darjeeling town can also be seen from here.
Dawaipani offers various activities for passionate travellers and adventure lovers which include trekking and hiking. This is a great place for bird lovers and photography as different species of birds of the Himalayas are found over here.
